Funny Desi Boyz review This movie belongs to the boyz

Director Rohit Dhawan follows in his dad’s footsteps and churns out an out-an-out entertainer, but thankfully his debut film is better than David Dhawan’s recent flick Rascals
Akshay Kumar and John Abraham were last seen together in Priyadarshan’s Garam Masala which was an absolute disaster. So we really didn’t expect much from Desi Boyz.

Surprisingly, the film is funny. At least the first half is. Our reviewer who is watching the film right now had this to say during the interval: If you ignore the fact that these educated ‘boys’ overlook every other decent profession and take up escorting as a way of earning their bread, butter, alcohol etc in times of financial crisis, the film works, at least the first half does. Dhawan shows promise. Sanjay Dutt does a cameo in the film and he totally steals the thunder with his charm. John and Akshay are the new Jai and Veeru in B-town. Deepika is hardly there and Chitrangda is missing from the first half. The music matches the mood of the film and the camera work is commendable. DB belongs to the boyz, hands down. The movie is a fun watch till the interval. Now waiting for the rest to unfold… hope the second half matches the fun pace of the first!
