Martinez won Dancing mirrorball 2011

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Actor J. R. Martinez is taking home the mirrorball trophy.

The Iraq war veteran was named “Dancing With the Stars” champion Tuesday, beating Rob Kardashian during the season-ending episode of the ABC hit.

Martinez hoisted the trophy with his professional partner, Karina Smirnoff.

The all-male finale was set up halfway through the final show when talk show host Ricki Lake was voted off, finishing third. Judges’ scores combined with viewer votes determined the winner.

The two-hour finale featured appearances from many of the season’s other contestants.

All Pakistan Waheedi Club is set to commemorate the 28th death anniversary of the legendary romantic hero Waheed Murad, with the programme commencing tomorrow (Wednesday).

According to the programme, Fateha would be offered at the grave of Waheed Murad situated in the Gulberg Graveyard near Firdous Market at 2pm. Later, Waheed Murad Award Show would be held at the Punjab Auditorium, Qaddafi Stadium, at 7pm where Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Rana Mashhood Ahmed would be the chief guest.

Film director, writer and producer Pervez Kaleem would preside over the function. Showbiz celebrities, including Shan, Habib, Mustafa Qureshi, Bahar Begum, Nisho, Aslam Dar, Shahid, Ghulam Mohiuddin, Hassan Askari, Madiha Shah, Hiya Ali, Saima Jahan and Rija are expected to attend the award show.

The Islamic Hijri calendar is purely lunar i.e. it depends on the moon’s cycle around earth. it has twelve lunar months;this was mentioned by the great prophet(SWT) in his last Pilgrimage at Ghadir-Khumm: “A year is twelve months, as at the time of Creation”.

Also in the Holy Quran, Sura IX, verse 36 reads: “Verily twelve months is the number of the months with Allah, according to Allah’s Book, ever since the day when He created Heavens and Earth.”

Since the average length of a lunar month is 29.53058 (solar)days, the hijri year will contain 29 or 30 days long months.. The total length of the Hijri year will be 354 days moving back 11 days for each solar year with a leap day accumulating about every three years.This means that the lunar cycle will repeat itself every 33 years. i.e the new moon falls in about the same time it occured 33 years ago.
