Packer accepts baned!

New Zealand‘s Russell Packer has pleaded guilty to a striking offence and will serve a one-match ban imposed by rugby league’s International Match Review Committee on Tuesday.
Packer was placed on report by English referee Phil Bentham following a tackle on Australian captain Darren Lockyer in the opening minute of Sunday’s Test between Australia and the Kiwis in Newcastle.
Packer caught Lockyer, who was playing his first game since smashing his cheekbone, on the chin with his forearm in the opening set of his side’s 42-6 defeat.
The Warriors’ front-rower will miss the opening fixture of the Four Nations in Warrington between theKangaroos and the Kiwis on October 28.
