Beautifull Rekha and Sachin Tendulkar nominated to the Rajya Sabha
On Thursday, along with Rekha and Sachin, President Pratibha Patil also accepted nomination of businesswoman and social worker Anu Aga to the Rajya Sabha.Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt is glad that Rekha’s nomination to Rajya Sabha has been approved by the President and says that the veteran actor has a long way to go. “I am happy that Rekha has made it to the privileged group of Rajya Sabha members. It is going to be a long journey for her,” Bhatt said. “It is no ordinary achievement for her. I am more happy because she belongs to our fraternity and they felt her worthy enough to be nominated,” he added. Other film celebrities, who have been a part of Rajya Sabha earlier include Nargis, Hema Malini, Lata Mangeshkar and Vyjayantimala.
Rekha will now join Jaya Bachchan as member of the Upper House. Ahem…ahem! While everyone hopes to see some fireworks or a Silsila part 2 in the making, wethinks that both Jaya and Rekha will choose to remain civil. After all, this is not the first time that the two are coming face to face. Even in the past, they’ve maintained civilised behaviour in public. Nonetheless, we will be clued in to find out what happens when they meet in the Rajya Sabha. Will you?
