The leg-spinner, who appears in better physical condition now than at the end of his international career in 2007, suggested he would be prepared to turn out for one of the two Melbourne-based franchises in the domesticTwenty20 league in an interview on Australian television.
He then took to Twitter to confirm his ambitions.
Warne wrote: ‘Re Big Bash – yes keen to be with a team, play a few games – help off field and help the younger players learn the game – could be fun!!!!!
‘My number one priority is my children and everything works around that. But if all things fall into place re scheduling etc big bash – yes!’
