Broadway-Bound Once Opens at New York Theatre Workshop
The East Village stage of New York Theatre Workshop has taken the form of a Dublin pub — complete with booze bottles, smoky mirrors and sepia-glowing incandescent bulbs — for the Manhattan premiere of the Irish-pop and folk-infused musical Once, which opened is Dec. 6. The show will move to Broadway in February 2012.
Barbara Broccoli, John N. Hart Jr., Patrick Milling Smith, Frederick Zollo, Brian Carmody, Michael G. Wilson and executive producer Robert Cole are taking the show to Broadway’s Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre for a first preview Feb. 28, 2012, and an opening night of March 18. Broadway tickets go on sale 12:01 AM Dec. 7 via telecharge.com.
